Darrell “Butch” Ealy, age 74, of Oakland, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2015. Darrell was born March 17, 1941 in Ashmore, IL to Paul and Nola (Prince) Ealy. He married Patricia Jayne Wendel on September 29, 1961 in Oakland, IL.
A lifelong resident of the Oakland and Ashmore areas, Darrell liked reading, trains, airplanes, birdwatching, and his pets. He started his banking career at Oakland National Bank, and followed through with all of the changes, ending his 45 year career in Paris at First Farmers Bank & Trust.
Darrell is survived by his two daughters: LuAnne Centers (Jeff Baker) of Hindsboro, IL and Christine (Bill) Schwerman of Windsor, IL; two granddaughters: Ashley Centers (Jeff Myer) of Hindsboro, IL and Christina (Shane) Moran of Chrisman, IL; great-grandchildren: Brayden Dare, Willow and Paislee Myer, and Alexis and Preston Moran; four brothers: Reg (Lisa) Ealy, Phillip (Judy) Ealy, Gene Ealy, and Carlin (Jane) Ealy; and one sister: Jennifer (Steve) Kosko. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, and one grandson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Krabel Funeral Home in Oakland. Funeral services will be held on also on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Coles County Humane Society.
