Rev Henry Isaac Venable
Born: 28 June 1811
@ Shelby County, Ky
Died: 22 May 1878

1830:
Graduated Centre College
1834:
Graduated Union Theological Seminary, Va
Licensed at West Hanover Presbytery
Missionary to Zulu Land, South Africa
Mar 1839:
Driven away by war in South Africa, he returned to the United States where he began to serve churches in our area.

1 Oct 1839- 1 Dec 1841:
supplied the Paris Church
(Later began the Edgar Female Academy)
1853-1856:
supplied the Charleston church
1 Apr 1856- 1 May 1860:
supplied the Oakland church 
1860-1865:
became the minister of the Oakland church
*( and somewhere in this time frame, be began the Venable Academy)
after 1865:
he served the following churches in Illinois
Newton, Carlisle, Claiborn and York
1870:
 became the principal of the Edgar Collegiate Institute in Paris, Il and continued there until shortly before his death.
